Supply-chain Director - Gantrex S.A. (Nivelles, Belgium)

Since October 2009

Rectruted to spearhead a major initiative to streamline and improve the performance of the company’s worldwide supply chain. Led a 6-member team and 10 indirect reports. Conducted an in-depth investigation into and assessment of the existing supply chain network, travelling extensively among corporate sites and supplier facilities. 

  • Developed a strategic action plan outlining best practice recommendations for the senior management team.

Operations Manager - StonCor Europe (Nivelles, Belgium)

June 2004 - April 2009

Promoted to direct a 13-member team in the oversight of the company’s end-to-end supply chain at the European distribution centre. Managed relationships with both internal and external suppliers representing a €14M procurement budget. Forecasted supply needs, oversaw procurement processes, and managed inventory and distribution among local warehouses and to end customers. Additionally served in a leadership role over the Stonhard product line, contributing to product development, sales force training, and directing the provision of high-level pre-sales and technical support.

  • Delivered dramatic improvements to supply chain efficiency with such achievements as a greater than 98% rate of on-time deliveries, a 5% reduction in days-of-inventory, and a 33% reduction in left-over reconciliation lead-time.
  • Streamlined supply chain productivity by championing an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system, training end users from 7 countries in the effective use of the system.
  • Successfully integrated a 25% increase in volume, managing 560 separate shipments each month to more than 12 countries.
  • Drove enhanced customer service and boosted sales force productivity by implementing customised online tools for generating and following up on customer quotes.
  • Professionalised customer product presentations by designing and running a laboratory to produce product samples.

Ran the strategic and day-to-day operations of the sales team and installation division, ensuring robust, fully aligned, integrated support of the pre-sales, customer service, deployment, and end user training processes. Established and institutionalised best practice operating procedures to drive the organisation’s efficient, service-oriented performance. Additionally provided subject matter expertise as necessary to address on-site legal issues.

  • Overhauled the operational performance of the organisation by designing a new organisational structure and systems to track and follow up on each project.
  • Improved the business’ risk management practices by identifying high-risk customers and implementing protective procedures to minimise risk.
